Less-Is-More Name Shirt

On a whim, I decided to place a full name on one of my "Less-Is-More" applique shirts as. I think it looks great with a name as well as a single initial. I tried my daughter Emma-Caroline's name as well on two lines and I think it still turned out nicely. I will post a picture of it soon!

Isn't it amazing how adding a name or initials to an article of clothing can make that item one of your most favorite things! It is especially true when it is your child's name. They love seeing those letters that make up their own personal identity sewn across a shirt, hat, jacket, etc. I am pleased to offer name applique in which you can choose a fabric or fabrics and have your child's name or any other phrase placed on whatever strikes your fancy. Name applique starts at $10 for up to 9 letters in length. $12 for names longer than 9 letters. For double name as in the case of my daughter "Emma-Caroline" the cost is also $12 and may have to be on a double line. Picture applique starts at $10. Picture applique with name as seen in cat and Sophie tee-shirt shown: $12 w/o shirt. If I provide the shirt the cost is $16 for picture applique and $18 for picture applique with name.

Monogram For a Personal Touch

Anything can be monogrammed. Look for things at some of the discount stores like Wal-Mart or Target and turn ordinary inexpensive things into treasured personal things. I found the two items pictured at Target and Wal-Mart and simply added a monogram. Special things do not have to be expensive. Find something inexpensive and personalize it. Josie-Bea Originals offers personalization for the following prices:

One letter up to 4inches in height : $6.00

Three letter monogram up to 4 inches in height: $8.00

Name or phrase up to 4 inches in height: $8.00

Medium Monograms: 4 inches in height up to 6 inches in height: $10.00

Large Monograms: Letters greater than 6 inches in height: $12.00

Most monograms fall under the $6.00-$8.00 price range.

Applique is the buzz of the monogram world these days. It is what everyone seems to want. I have many types of character and letter applique, which I will gladly do. I wanted to create something more simplistic that would still make a statement. As the saying goes "Less is more." That is definitely true here in the case of these shirts. The "Less-Is_More" shirt will be another staple that I will always carry along with the "Princess Dress". You can choose from the material I offer or bring in your own. I also do the circle applique on bibs, towels, etc. Look for Valentine's Day items coming soon!

The Princess Dress

One item that I carry as a staple at Josie-Bea Originals are monogrammed long sleeved and sleeveless dresses with trim. The long sleeved dresses are sweet little princess style dresses that I embellish with a monogram or name as well as ribbon trim and ball fringe. I offer a wide range of colors of ribbon and ball fringe, not just the red and white shown in the pictures. The sleeveless version of the dress is done the same way and makes a great swimsuit cover up or little summer play dress. Ellen Sullivan carried both of these and I am calling it the "Princess Dress" as a tribute to her and her business "The Southern Princess." I am happy to continue the tradition. The long sleeved dress with trim and monogram is $24 and the sleeveless dress sells for $20.

Fonts

I posted a side bar with the font styles I offer, but it is pretty small, so I am going to place them in a post. I also offer "arabesque" (seen on the monogrammed dress with three letters) and a few other fonts that are not seen on my board. I will post examples of those later.

StayTuned!

As many of my friends and family know, I began this business Josie-Bea Originals in May of 2008 after my friend and monogramming specialist Ellen decided to end her business for an indefinite time. She so sweetly encouraged me to take up the business for myself, and so with a leap, I jumped right in. My business has grown and I now have many regular customers thanks to Ellen's referrals and many friends. Many thanks to all! I began this blog for Josie-Bea Originals as a way to have a "web-site" that was not actually a web-site. My intent was to post items that I had for sale as well as examples of things that I had monogrammed that others may wish to have done on their own personal things. I have not as of yet been able to post much to the blog. I attribute this to the business being so new and to it's growing faster than I had time to do anything else but monogram. Thanks be to God for that! My goal in 2009 is to get this blog up and rolling with several posts per month and possibly a way for you to place orders on line.
