The "Minnie" Shirt

We are headed to Disney World this Thursday so I was inspired to do a Minnie Mouse shirt. My dear friend Sarah gave me the thumbs up on it, so I can now feel confident that my girls will not look silly in their homemade Minnie Mouse shirts in the actual Disney World theme parks. Hopefully Minnie Mouse herself will also find it flattering to her likeness. Maybe we will get pictures with Minnie and the girls in their shirts. If you are headed to Disney in the near future and would like custom Minnie or Mickey shirts I would be more than happy to do one for you. New ones will be offered in short sleeve instead of long sleeved

Minnie or Mickey shirt: $18

Happy Valentine's Day!

Last night I decided to make two princess dresses for Emma-Caroline and Sophie for Valentine's Day and for our family pictures that we did today. I used the simple circle applique so that they could wear these dresses again for occasions other than Valentine's Day. Emma-Caroline was so excited about her dress and I think Sophie was too, even though she couldn't quite express it in the same way as her sister. I think the applique on the princess dress turned out nicely and I will offer that as an option. I just so happened to have matching ribbon trim for the girls dresses. I think that it is important that the applique and ribbon match. Have a very Happy Valentine's Day!

The "Jack" Shirt

As the saying goes, "Sugar and Spice and Everything nice, that's what little girls are made of. Frogs and snails and puppy dog tails, that's what little boys are made of . . ." For my friends who have little boys, thank you for your patience with me in finding cute material that would be good for a boy's applique shirt. It's hard! It's much easier to find cute girl material, There's just more out there. I have decided with the naming of the "Mary Frances" shirt, that I will now call my shirts by a name. These simple applique shirts will still be known as the "Less-Is-More" shirt, but distinguished by font style, and fabric color by a particular name. As in this case, the shirt is called the "Jack." I am fortunate enough to live in a neighborhood with lots of little boys (6 in my cul-de-sac alone). I will therefore have other boy shirts to choose from as I make them.
Sizes 12 month - 5T

The Mary Frances Shirt

Of course you have heard of the Mary Jane shoe. I suppose it had to have been named after someone named Mary Jane who inevitably always wore shoes that looked like Mary Jane shoes. My friend Ann asked me to do a little shirt for her daughter with the circle applique and a letter applique on top. It's the first of this kind that I have done and since Ann gave me the idea, I am calling it the Mary Frances shirt in honor of her daughter Mary Frances who will be three on Valentine's Day. Happy Birthday Mary Frances from me to you! And thanks for the idea Ann!

First Blog Order!

Today I completed my very first order off of my Josie-Bea Originals blog spot. It is for a friend that I used to teach with in Loudon whom I haven't seen in several years. I am thrilled to have been able to do these shirts for her little girl as well as to be back in contact with my friend. I am also excited to be able to offer a way for people to order some of my creations from my blog. This week, I am setting up a "Paypal" account so that people will also be able to pay online. Thanks Courtney for being my first web order! I hope you will like these little shirts for Gracie. I enjoyed making them for her.
